The new generation Purvanchali Leader - Rana Sujeet Singh

"After having cooking the Dal, packing meal packets, personally distributing them to the needy; while this brought relief on needy peoples' faces; it brought emotional tears in my eyes," recapitulates  Rana Sujeet Singh.

For once, he forgot he had politics in his blood. Serving the hungry, coordinating home transportation to the migrants to reach home were the turning points in the life of Rana Sujeet Singh, son of a businessman and grandson of Late Kameshwar Prasad Singh. He is a Purvanchali Congress Leader who contested for MLA elections in 2020 from Chatarpur, New Delhi.

Rana Sujeet Singh, a graduate from Bangalore University and then having completed post graduation in Maharashtra, he hails from a business family. His maternal grandfather was the highly respected Shri Ranjit Singh who was the Urban Development Minister who contested from Gaya and Chatra.

Supporting the issues related to Purvanchal, he is also the nephew of Shri Vijay Krishna contested from Barh in Patna and became a MP by defeating Nitish Kumar in the most talked about election.

Seeing politics since his childhood, while in Bangalore he was active with the Students Wing, Rana had just come back to Delhi in 2006 and started serving Purvanchal people. "Today the Purvanchal voters have become a formidable force as its vote bank comprises to 38% of Delhi's electorate. All parties are concentrating on Purvanchali vote bank. Bihar, UP, Uttrakhand and Assam form a part of the Purvanchal, “Rana observed”.

Among the Purvanchali leaders, Mahabal Mishra was the president for Purvanchal in Delhi, Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav are the latest example of the power of Purvanchal.

"I have interacted a lot with the Purvanchali people," Rana Sujeet Singh began in 2006 in Delhi by holding regular Jan Sabhas, listen to their issues and finding solution for their problems. "What I realized is that the major political parties sweet-talked with Purvanchali people during the elections and after coming to power they began neglecting them."

He aims to see a Purvanchali CM in Delhi very soon, "I am sure that this day is not far. In the forthcoming MCD elections in March 2022 my priority is to let my people come up and provide them the representation in the Corporation as they have voted for the party. I will work for my people and give in all the best of my efforts to see that the maximum of Purvanchali contestants win the elections."

Speaking about his leader Rahul Gandhi, Rana says, "Rahulji's leadership is quite different as he thinks for the youth and gives them full support to be a part of governance. This thinking and ideology sets him apart from other parties. Economic progress is his focus and he was the premier most to predict about the massive tsunami of unemployment that is waiting to grip the country and this prophecy came true now. You can see that there is not a single policy decision towards ramping up the economy. Rahulji wants policies that encourage the youth to tap their potential and progress which will bring a positive ripple effect on the society as a whole."

Defending the opposition's jokes on his leader, Rana Sujeet Singh exclaimed, "Just because Rahulji is truthful, point blank and talks on numbers, he has been misconstrued by the opposition leaders who manipulate the words and begin to frame slogans and names to ridicule this man's ideologies in the media."

When asked about his contribution during the pandemic, Rana answered, "During the 1st wave of Pandemic Lock-down we started the CONGRESS RASOI movement in my area which catered to providing meals for 500-800 people, provided Oxygen Cylinders, face masks, hospital beds, medicines, medical kits, vapour machines. We helped the daily wage earners to survive these difficult months. I arranged the co-ordination for transporting the migrant workers to reach back to their hometowns. It was such a tearful moment watching these stranded people walking hundreds of kilometers to reach home and the present government had no remorse for them."

"During the second pandemic it was more pathetic to see bodies of loved ones of people just being flung into the rivers as it was beyond their financial reach to arrange for cremation. What is so shocking is that our country produces more Oxygen than what we require, but it is the present government's failure to co-ordinate the transportation," he added.

What is the single most achievement that he is proud of? He explained, "People think about me and come to me with their issues as I am with my people and this is my major achievement. I serve them as much as I can because I think of them as my own extended family. During the Congress RASOI programme, due to lack of labour for cooking meals for the masses, I personally cooked Dal and rice and personally packed the meals so that the packets could reach the beneficiaries at the right time for their lunch despite movement restrictions."

"We busted the Vyapam Scam, the biggest scam of recent times and as of now it is in the Hon'ble Supreme Court and since the matter is subjudice, I cannot comment anything more," ends Rana Sujeet Singh.
